Dear Parents and Carers
Congratulations to the amazing young people who have taken part in the Brilliant Club this year and had their graduation at Bristol University on Wednesday!
Thank you to everyone involved in making Charity Week such a success (including the sale of 1300 Krispy Kreme doughnuts at breaktime!). There has been a wonderful range of activities on offer as you can see from the article below and it has been lovely to see so many young people getting involved and helping to raise money for our HH50 campaign. Thank you as always for your generosity and for supporting your young people to get involved.
It has been lovely to see the young people making the most of the field now that it is open and being respectful in terms of litter and leaving promptly at the end of lunchtime. Please could you encourage young people to:
- bring a refillable water bottle -to be filled at break and lunchtime and not during lessons
- consider sitting in the shade/wearing a hat /wearing sunscreen
- bring suitable balls for games – no water pistols or water balloons!
Thank you for your support in keeping our young people safe in the sun.
As we head into exam season next week, I would like to wish all of our young people taking external exams this summer the very best of luck. I know that they have been working hard revising and I hope will embrace the opportunity to show the exam boards how much they have learnt.
Enjoy the long weekend!

Focus on…Culture Week
Culture Week is an opportunity to recognise and celebrate the incredible variety of cultures that shape our communities. Throughout the week, students explore traditions, beliefs, languages, arts, and everyday practices from around the world, developing a deeper appreciation for identity and inclusion. By engaging with new perspectives, they build curiosity, empathy, and a more expansive understanding of the world around them. Through spoken word poetry performances, a tai chi workshop, and visits from representatives of different faiths and worldviews, Culture Week aims to strengthen our sense of belonging and nurture globally aware, respectful young people.

Charity Week 2026
Charity Week 2026 has been a fun-filled week of fundraising for our school charity the Hardenhuish Educational Trust.
Our School Parliament and Year Councils have hosted a fantastic range of events throughout the week. During tutor time, our Student Leadership Team led Charity Week assemblies and pupils took part in the Great Green Quiz and guess the number of sweets in a jar! Pupils participated in the Hardenhuish 50 Challenge, bingo, the chess tournament, a Rubik’s Cube championship, & shopped at the book sale. Pupils joined in with tug-of-war, capture the flag, Mario Kart, and bench ball. They also enjoyed visiting the sweet stall, tasting a Krispy Kreme doughnut, trying our Charity Week cakes, and taking part in the Chocolate Raffle. The week culminated in a non-uniform day and sixth form dress-up.
Thank you very much for supporting Charity Week 2026!

Health and Social Care News

Year 10 Health and Social Care students enjoyed a visit from Tracy Evans this week. Tracy works for Wiltshire Council as an Advisory Teacher for children and young people with physical and medical Needs within early years settings, schools and colleges.
She shared how she embeds person centered values into her daily work empowering children and young people and common assumptions people may make about people with disabilities. She also talked about the importance of adapting activities, where necessary, to ensure inclusion and meet the rights of service users, particularly equal and fair treatment.
This was such a beneficial way for the students to learn about how theory links to practice, thank you so much for your time Tracy, the students really enjoyed your visit!
Year 9 Crowned Wiltshire FA Cup Champions in Thrilling Final
Hardenhuish Year 9s were crowned Wiltshire FA Cup champions after a dramatic and hard‑fought 3–2 victory over John of Gaunt in an unforgettable final last week.
John of Gaunt arrived as a big, physical side and immediately posed a challenge, but Hardenhuish matched their intensity and quickly imposed themselves on the game with some excellent passing football. In midfield, the players were outstanding, controlling the tempo and ensuring Hardenhuish played with confidence and composure.
The breakthrough came when a superb left‑footed strike was fired into the net to give Hardenhuish a deserved 1–0 lead. However, John of Gaunt responded well and drew level from a corner, making it 1–1 and setting up a tense contest.
Another corner saw John of Gaunt edge ahead at 2–1 after some unfortunate defending, but Hardenhuish showed tremendous character and resilience. It wasn’t long before another brilliant effort brought the score to 2-2.
With the game finely balanced and chances at both ends, the match entered its decisive moments. A player from the bench made an instant impact, producing a wonderful finish with just minutes remaining to put Hardenhuish 3–2 in front and spark celebrations among players and supporters alike.
The final moments were tense, with John of Gaunt sending their goalkeeper forward in a last‑ditch attempt to force an equaliser. But we were able to secure the win and confirm Hardenhuish as Wiltshire FA Cup champions.
A fantastic team performance, full of determination, quality and togetherness — a victory that will be remembered with pride by players, staff and supporters.
