Dear Parents and Carers
I know I said last week that there would not be a Headlines this week as we finish today, but felt you needed to be aware of the following two items!
Tutor Check in re-arrangement
Due to a national outage affecting the TES online meeting platform on 8 October, we were unfortunately unable to proceed with our Tutor Check-In event as planned. We apologise for the inconvenience this caused.
To provide families with another opportunity to meet with their child’s tutor, we have arranged replacement Tutor Check-In evenings on 11 and 12 November. Parents and carers will be able to book a
5-minute appointment on either evening, subject to tutor availability. As these dates have been added to the calendar at relatively short notice, not all tutors are available on both evenings.
TES has reassured us that the technical issues experienced on 8 October have now been resolved, and we do not anticipate any further problems with the platform.
We strongly encourage parents and carers to book an appointment. Prior to the cancellation, over 80% of families had already confirmed an appointment, demonstrating the value that students, parents and tutors place on these conversations. Tutor Check-Ins provide an excellent opportunity to discuss how your child has settled into the academic year and identify any support that may be helpful moving forward.
An email will be sent today containing booking links and further details about the event.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support. We look forward to welcoming you to the rescheduled Tutor Check-In evenings.
CBLC Christmas Voucher Scheme
Chippenham Borough Lands Charity’s Christmas Voucher Scheme opens at 9am on Monday 2nd November 2026, offering supermarket vouchers of £75-£175 to eligible households.
To apply, you must live within Chippenham Parish and be receiving means-tested benefits and/or meet the scheme’s low-income criteria.
Applications are due to close at 12pm on Friday 13th November, but the scheme may close earlier if the available funds are fully allocated. Last year, the scheme closed early due to the volume of applications, so eligible households are encouraged to apply as soon as applications open.

Have a restful October break and we look forward to welcoming everyone back on 2nd November.
