Dear Parents

I hope that you have had a good week, thank you again for your support of our young people as we approach the end of term.

It has been lovely to see Year 10 in school this week and they have been grateful of the support they have received. We are looking forward to welcoming Years 7,8 and 9 in school next week for their check-in conversations which we hope will send them in to the summer break feeling positive about our return in September.

I am sure that you will have noted the release of guidance yesterday in relation to the full opening of schools in September. We are currently considering the implications and how this might work for Hardenhuish and will be in touch as soon as we are able with more details. We have however made the decision to change the format of the first week back in light of our extended period out of school. We will be holding two Staff Training on 1 and 2 September to ensure that we are fully prepared for the new term and Year 7 will have two induction days on 3 and 4 September to ensure that they are settled as well as possible before Year 12 come in for an Induction day on 4 September. Years 8,9,10, 11 and 13 will begin their school year on Monday 7 September. Thank you for your understanding in this change to our original plans which I think will get all of us all off to the best possible start to the year.

Congratulations to Lilly Tottle and Rowan Fairclough from our outgoing Year 13 who have been awarded a Reading List Foundation Scholarship of £250, in the form of a Blackwell’s Bookshop voucher, in recognition of their achievements in Years 12 and 13. We wish Year 13 the very best as they continue to explore their post-Hardenhuish options and look forward to celebrating their time at Hardenhuish in the future.

The Leadership Team will be delivering Year Books and Hoodies to Year 11 over the next couple of weeks and we also wish them well as they plan for next year.

Please do share any Alumni Degree success with us over the coming weeks as it is lovely to hear of the wonderful things that our previous students achieve.

Have a restful weekend.

Lisa Percy
