Head’s Message

Dear Parents

I used @ThankateacherUK day earlier this week to thank our whole community for working together and supporting each other. We are very grateful for your ongoing support of our young people as they continue with their home learning and of us as a school as we navigate our way through the current situation.

As you may be aware, the Department for Education laid out plans in their guidance published on 11 May for education and childcare settings to prepare for wider opening from 1 June 2020. We are still awaiting the further guidance promised at the time regarding what the expectations are regarding the face-to-face support to supplement the remote education of Year 10 and 12 young people. We will be in touch once we have received this guidance and fully planned our response. Our first priority will remain the safety of our whole community, and I can confirm that there are no plans to change our current provision from 1 June.

To finish on a real positive, two of our Year 9 pupils have really shown what kindness can do, raising money for Keyworkers whilst also retaining their fitness during lockdown

Thank you again for completing our surveys, supporting our young people with their home learning and supporting our young people so fully through these current challenges.

Have a restful May break, take care and stay safe.
