Hardenhuish Headlines

The Year 7s have had a wonderful week at Liddington and it was great to see them last night looking so happy – if a little tired!

I hope that the young people and staff are able to rest and recover over the weekend.

A big thank you to Chris Winter, Year 7 Learning Manager, Sarah Loft, Pastoral Manager, The Year 7 Team and all of the other staff who have supported this amazing experience for our young people.

As the weather turns Autumnal, please can I remind you to encourage young people to wear a waterproof coat to school to keep them warm and dry as they move around the site.

We are holding our first Mental Health PIAG next Tuesday to coincide with Mental Health Awareness week and Hello Yellow Day on Thursday. Please come along to hear about the support that we provide to support young people in school and also consider what is available externally to support our young people through the challenges of being a teenager.

Please also see below details of the Great Hardenhuish Bake Off which will be an exciting event to look forward to before the October break.

U16 Squad Qualify for County Champs at Marlborough College

A huge well done to the U16 Netball Squad who played exceptionally well on Wednesday evening at the U16 District Netball Tournament hosted by Sheldon School.
Our U16 squad was selected from our top netballers from across Years 10 and 11 and the sun came out for a great afternoon of netball. Throughout the tournament, we demonstrated incisive passing through the thirds which allowed our shooters to maximise every opportunity under the post. Our defence was strong, and we won the ball back on multiple occasions with a number of impressive interceptions. The speed and endurance of the squad was evident as the tournament progressed and our team was able to keep up their fast pace down the court.

All the players did themselves and Hardenhuish proud. The final scores were vs Sheldon – won 11-10, vs Malmesbury – won 10-6, vs St Marys -lost 5-8. We finished the tournament in a well-deserved second place which qualifies us for the U16 County Champs at Marlborough College on Sunday 17 November.

We wish the squad the best of luck for the next round.
