As you will see there are no items in the Headlines this week (but please read through to the end as there is some good news!) – the result of us all having our heads down and working hard (especially the pupils!).
Year 8 have settled in to their exam fortnight really well and should be congratulated on their mature approach, Year 9 are preparing for their Options, Year 11 have started their 6th Form advice and guidance meetings as well as their mock language speaking exams, and Years 7 and 12 are settling well into their Term 3 studies.
Thanks to Maya Skelton and Will Martin, members of our Year 13 Student Leadership Team, we welcomed Councillors Melody Thompson, Ross Henning and Peter Hutton on Wednesday as part of Local Government Awareness Day who gave our School Parliament some fantastic insights into politics.
I would like to congratulate our Senior Youth Speaks Team (Year 10) who have made it through to the next round of the Rotary organised competition and wish the Intermediate Team luck as they compete against other local schools next week.
The Schools Funding Joint Action Group are publicising the following: Petition: Increase funding for schools as part of the ongoing campaign to increase school funding. We appreciate your continued support as we work hard to maintain the Hardenhuish standards of education, extra-curricular opportunities and experiences as our budgets fail to keep up with increased costs.
I would like to finish by drawing your attention to the Secondary performance tables here where Hardenhuish ranked 7th amongst Wiltshire Secondaries. We were 9th last year and I would like to thank everyone for the hard work that went in last year to put us in this fantastic position.
