Hardenhuish Headlines

Dear Parents

I am delighted to be able to report that this first full week of term has been fantastic!

Our young people have returned extremely well and have made a very positive start to Term 1. I have been really impressed by their behaviour around the site as well as their focus in lessons and engagement in learning.

Year 7 and 8 are visiting Liddington next week where they will take part in team building activities with their tutor groups which I know they will enjoy and will build relationships which will stay with them through their time at Hardenhuish and beyond.

We also have our Year 13 Awards Evening next week when we celebrate the successes of the young people who left us in Year 13 last summer. I am looking forward to congratulating them and wishing them luck as they begin their next adventures.

Have a good weekend.

Lisa Percy

Self-study success!

Lola Parry-Jones (Y10) has had a long running interest in Greek and Roman history which she took one step further last year when she decided to teach herself the full GCSE course in Classical Civilisation. After buying the textbook in November 2020, she committed to self-studying the course for a few hours every weekend and whenever she was bored! Congratulations to Lola for achieving a very impressive grade 6 in this qualification over the summer. Lola’s brilliant achievement just goes to show what is possible when you work hard to develop an interest or talent.
