The positive work ethic, determination and hard work of Year 13 students at Hardenhuish has resulted in fantastic A level results with the vast majority of students meeting or exceeding their challenging targets.
This year an impressive 58% of grades were awarded at A*-B. 33% of grades were awarded at A*-A with 63% of students achieving one or more A*/A grades, 20% of the cohort achieving 3 or more A*/A grades and 10% of the cohort achieving 4 or more A*/A grades. These impressive results in both the A Level and core curriculum programme of the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), Level 3 Sports Leaders and Core Maths have enabled students to gain places on courses at some of the most prestigious universities or move on to industry leading higher-level apprenticeships.
On their final school day, led by the student Leadership Team, Year 13 showed their gratitude to the staff who had supported them throughout their studies by leaving thank you cards and gifts across the site and leaving the current Year 12 doughnuts and messages of support to wish them well for their Year 13 studies. This demonstrates the generosity the students have shown throughout their time at Hardenhuish, volunteering in lower school lessons and contributing so widely to school life. The Year 13 Governor Awards Ceremony in September will provide an opportunity for the 6th Form Team, teachers, parents and the whole community to share in their celebrations.
Lisa Percy, Headteacher said “Our amazing Year 13 of 2019 are a credit to themselves, their parents and our staff who have taught, guided and supported them during their time at Hardenhuish. I am proud of each and every one of our Year 13 and their achievements and am confident that their results, positive outlook and maturity will lead them on to even greater achievements in the future”.
