School Parliament

The Hardenhuish Parliament seeks to encourage wider student participation in the running of the school, providing an environment which replicates a Council-style organisation, and overall hoping to encourage wider socio-political involvement among young people in the Hardenhuish community.

Each year, every student can stand for the Parliament; firstly, as one of two representatives for their tutor group, and then as a Year Council Representative. Below you can find a link to the Parliament’s Constitution, outlining the selection process and the various duties Parliament members hold.

Elections for the Parliament will begin in the first week of term in each student tutor groups. After this, representatives will attend termly meetings, as well as help run other school events.

The Parliament can be a hugely beneficial aspect of a student’s education, providing them with an opportunity to make real change to the Hardenhuish community. This year our students will also have the opportunity to impact the wider Chippenham area, through our partnership with the Chippenham Local Youth Network, and our local MP will also be visiting the group to encourage them to stand for Youth Parliament.

Members of the Sixth Form can also work with the Parliament, both as representatives and as Syndicate Representatives for the Student Leadership Team.

This year, your Parliament Representatives for the Student Leadership Team are:

William Martin and Maya Skelton
