ENGLISH

Curriculum Leader: Mr Dan Skirrow

Introduction
The English Faculty at Hardenhuish School is a vibrant team of highly committed specialists, passionate about our subject. We share a common purpose – using our love for literature to enthuse and motivate those who we teach. We pride ourselves on delivering a carefully developed curriculum that is both stimulating and challenging, encouraging our pupils to be creative, resilient and ambitious. As well as the dynamic work that goes on in lessons, we offer a diverse and exciting programme of extra-curricular English activities.

This year, we have taken Year 10 to see An Inspector Calls, Year 9 have seen Romeo and Juliet and Years 7 and Year 8 have been entertained and inspired by a variety of different poets and authors who’ve visited us. Our Sixth Form students have been taking part in theatre trips and visits to the Cheltenham Literature Festival. We are committed to striving for new, innovative ways to bring English to life for our pupils beyond the classroom and really excite them about our subject.
