The project of four Year 12 students from Hardenhuish School culminated this week when they presented their findings to the global engineering and technology services company, Siemens in Chippenham. Eleanor Moor-Bardell, Austin Coleman, Lucy Jones and Alex Henrich had spent nine months investigating the efficiency and suitability of the railway running from Bristol Temple Meads to London Paddington. Hardenhuish Students Design Remembrance Sculpture

Three Year 12 students from Hardenhuish School have created a sculpture of a soldier from chicken wire, which will be displayed in Sainsburys in Chippenham in the run-up to Remembrance Sunday. The sculpture, named Gilbert by the pupils who created him, was inspired by members of the Wiltshire Regiment who are recognised on the Hardenhuish School war memorial.  It will have messages to soldiers attached to it that have been written by primary school pupils. Hardenhuish School in Chippenham was delighted to welcome Michelle Donelan to Hardenhuish School last week, fresh from the conservative conference.  She was able to update Lisa Percy, the new Headteacher, on the latest developments in the education sector.  Discussions ranged from minority subjects through to the highly debated topic of teacher recruitment.  The Fairer Funding Formula remains high on the priority list for both Hardenhuish and the government, and Michelle Donelan continues to support the local schools in their drive for a fairer funding solution…
