Hardenhuish Pupils Vote To ‘Remain’ In Their Mock EU Referendum

On Thursday 23 June the nation went to the polling stations to cast their vote on whether the United Kingdom should remain part of the European Union or to leave it. At Hardenhuish School, teachers and pupils have been discussing the same issues and have conducted their own referendum across Years 7 to12. Hardenhuish School have been promoting healthy eating having signed up to the British Nutrition Foundation’s Healthy Eating Week. A variety of activities were put on for pupils during the week to promote healthy eating and drinking, being active, food provenance and cooking in school. Hardenhuish Pupils Raise £300 for Tablet Appeal

Hardenhuish pupils, Katherine Whiting, Katherine Stone and Eleanor Davey, raised £300 for their school’s Tablet Appeal last weekend at the Bolehyde Manor National Garden Scheme Open Day. The three Year 8 friends sold teas and cakes at the 17th-century manor house at Allington, near Chippenham, occupied by the Earl and Countess Cairns. Hardenhuish School was alive with the sound of world music last week thanks to a series of workshops that were organised by the School’s Music Department. On Tuesday, Year 7 pupils took part in one of several African Drumming sessions that were run by Bristol-based musician, Justin Fellows. Four Year 10 pupils from Hardenhuish School in Chippenham spent their half term holiday savouring their win in the final of the second Global Entrepreneurs’ Challenge, organised by Wiltshire Global Education Centre, the educational arm of the Marlborough Brandt Group which has linked Marlborough to Gunjur in the Gambia for more than 30 years. Hardenhuish School is celebrating winning the Under-16 Wiltshire County Schools Football Cup Final after their 3-1 win over Swindon’s Highworth Warneford School on Tuesday. All of the players are in Year 11 and some of them will shortly be leaving school once they have sat their GCSE exams.
