Hardenhuish School Receives Award For E-Safety

In the first joint assessment of its kind in the country, Hardenhuish School has been awarded the ICT Mark and the 360 degree safe E-Safety Mark accreditations. The school received the awards after assessors from NAACE and the South West Grid for Learning (SWGfL) visited the school to review its e-safety provision and its use of technology to support teaching, learning and its administration. Specialist Schools Maths Murder Mystery Event

Nine local primary schools were each represented by a team of mathematicians during the annual Maths Murder Mystery Event. The aim of the morning was for the pupils to solve a crime using maths skills. The pupils’ potential detective skills were initially tested by being asked to solve a series of mathematical problems, using the speed, time and distance triangle. Hardenhuish School’s Key Stage 3 Girls’ badminton team were glowing with success last Thursday after representing Wiltshire in the Regional Finals of the School Games in Plymouth and winning! Chippenham and Village Environmentalists (CAVE) have kindly donated £500 towards the completion of Hardenhuish School’s new biodiversity project. Year 13 Hardenhuish student, Aimee Tonks, came a fantastic second place when she took part in the Somerset and Wiltshire contest of the Poetry By Heart competition at Bath’s Egg Theatre on Monday 22nd February. This is the fourth year of Poetry By Heart, a national competition designed to encourage pupils aged 14-18 to learn and to recite poems by heart in a way that shows they have inwardly-understood and enjoyed them.
