Last week audiences at Hardenhuish School’s “The Sound of Music” were dazzled when the 35 strong-cast plus a live orchestra proved they could ‘Climb Every Mountain’ to reach the heights at four evening sell out performances of the production. Hardenhuish School’s Art department was extremely privileged to receive a visit from the renowned artist David Cobley. David is a professional portrait painter who has produced portraits for a variety of prestigious sitters including Her Majesty The Queen, HRH Princess Anne, The Dean of Westminster, the Lord Mayor of London 2000, Steven Berkoff, Sir Timothy Sainsbury, Richard Briers, Sir Martin Evans, famous for stem cell research and Ken Dodd. A team of seven Hardenhuish pupils had an extra spring in their steps this week after they had bounced their way to victory on Wednesday 28th January in a trampolining competition. The event, part of the ‘Wiltshire School Games 2015’, was competitively fought by strong teams from a number of North Wiltshire Schools. Badminton Team Are County Champions For Second Year Running

Five talented badminton players from Hardenhuish School attended the Wiltshire Girls County Badminton Finals in Tidworth on Tuesday 3rd February. The team exceeded all expectations by remaining undefeated in all their games and beating every team 5-0! The girls were understandably delighted to be crowned County Champions for the second year running and will now go on to represent Wiltshire in the next regional heat in Devon next month. Celebrated Poets Inspire Hardenhuish Pupils

Pupils at Chippenham’s Hardenhuish School have been treated to a series of inspirational poetry workshops over the past fortnight, encouraging them to get creative and quell the stereotype of the spoken word being an outdated form. Year 8 pupils studying war poetry this term worked with renowned performance poet Ash Dickinson to broaden their knowledge of poetic techniques before getting the chance to develop and share their own ideas with their peers.
