Following their stunning victory at the recent South West Regional Final of the Engineering Education Scheme 2013/14, the four Hardenhuish Sixth-Formers involved have been rewarded with Gold Crest Award Certificates in recognition of their achievement,which they received from their Headteacher, Mrs Jan Hatherell. In total, 23 teams took part in the competition from 18 schools representing both maintained and independent schools from all over the South West. Hardenhuish U16 Netball Team have qualified for the County Finals after a series of tremendous results which led to the team coming second in this month’s District Netball Tournament. The team achieved success against a number of their local competitors including Sheldon, Abbeyfield and Malmesbury Schools. Only a narrow defeat to Stonar School prevented the girls from achieving overall victory in the tournament. Kieran Mulvaney is just 17 but in November he will be taking part in a debate in the House of Commons. The Hardenhuish School sixth former, who has just been chosen to receive a Civic Award, was elected to represent North Wiltshire in the UK Youth Parliament and is also sitting on the Wiltshire Assembly of Youth for the second year. Pen Friends Around The World!

Students from the Syrian refugee community were delighted to receive a gift of stationery after pupils at Hardenhuish School had worked tirelessly during the Summer term to raise money for this worthwhile initiative. More than £170 was raised in total and the delighted students from Jubeiah Secondary School for Girls, Hardenhuish’s link school in Jordan, were finally presented with 40 sets of colouring pencils, maths stationery sets and filled pencil cases recently.
