Nearly 250 Year 7 pupils from Hardenhuish School travelled back in time when they visited Caerphilly Castle in Wales on a cross-curricular trip at the beginning of June. Caerphilly is equally famous for its cheese and also its castle, which was built in the late 13th century by Gilbert de Clare, Lord of Glamorgan. Despite intense competition from 7 other Wiltshire schools, the Year 9 Hardenhuish team won the combined Technology and Language Challenge held at St John’s School on Tuesday 3rd June 2014. The brief for the school teams was to create a Natural Disaster Aid Pack prior to presenting it to a panel of “Dragons”.
