DELIGHTED HARDENHUISH PARENT WINS PRIZE DRAW!

During recent parents’ evenings, many parents at Hardenhuish School have taken up the offer of a Personalised Travel Planning Session with Connecting Wiltshire.  Having completed a brief survey called ‘Your Journey’; parents were subsequently entered into a fantastic prize draw. On Thursday 13 March, the lucky winner of the prize draw received £50 of High Street Shopping Vouchers from Marjory Hatvany, Project Officer: Personalised Travel Planning in Schools with Connecting Wiltshire. Spring Concert 2014

The breadth of talent of our musicians at Hardenhuish was enjoyed by a packed audience on Monday 17 March.   Pupils from all years took to the stage and the high standard and quality was commented on by many in the audience.  The variety of repertoire and styles of ensemble was impressive ranging from the younger years in the KS3 concert band to the 6th Form Acapella Ensemble who wowed the audience with their vocal harmonies and stage presence.

Conor Irwin is looking forward competing against some of the best young trampolinists in the country after jumping up to the penultimate grade in British Gymnastics’ National Development Plan (NDP). The Yatton Keynell 12- year-old, a pupil at Hardenhuish School, achieved his level seven ranking last month, which will allow him to compete at national level as he targets a spot at July’s NDP grades finals in Telford, in July. Year 8 pupils at Hardenhuish School have been inspired to get creative in their writing by performance poet and regular poetry slam champion Ash Dickinson, who held a series of workshops over two days in the school library last week. As well as showcasing some of his award-winning work, which has seen him perform at literary festivals around the world and at The Edinburgh Fringe, Ash encouraged the pupils to develop their own skills through poetic techniques like haikus and triolets, before giving them the…

HARDENHUISH STUDENTS TO REPRESENT WILTSHIRE IN SOUTH WEST FINAL OF PUBLIC SPEAKING COMPETITION

Three Year 12 Hardenhuish students won the Rotary Northern Area Senior Semi-Final of the 2014 Youth Speaks public speaking competition held at Sheldon School in Chippenham on Thursday 27 February. The competition was fiercely contested between five accomplished teams who had progressed from previous heats and which represented both maintained and independent schools in the North Wiltshire area.
