Hardenhuish is an 11-18 co-educational comprehensive school set in the magnificent parkland of the former Hardenhuish Manor and Chippenham Grammar School. Major capital building projects during the last decade have transformed the learning environment, the first phase of which included a £2 million Technology Centre, completed in 2003. The new Sports Hall, with climbing wall, the new English and Performing Arts Centre, the extensively redeveloped Science and Maths Centres, and the completion in 2009 of a new two-storey Sixth Form Centre, means that Hardenhuish has some of the most impressive facilities in the County. It is “a high performing Specialist School” in Mathematics and Computing (since 2003) and Science (since April 2009), following its very successful Ofsted inspection in February 2008 when it was graded Outstanding. As well as expertise in these specialisms, the school has been designated a Lead School for Gifted and Talented learners, a status which recognises our exemplary provision for the most able pupils and our outreach programme which benefits the wider community.
